The Botanist is the muse for our outpost in Shanghai, in the One ITC Mall.
This glistening new mall was adorned an elevated study of The Botanist in a more luxury setting. Neon pops of colour and texture – metal gabions sit filled with acid coloured wildflowers against polished sheets of copper, layered with hand carved quartz tables and scented trumpets to court and enrapture the passers-by.
The Fashionista is our muse for Miller Harris Xintiandi, Shanghai.
A compact boutique lined in mirror plated wardrobe like display vitrines, dressed with warmly lit rose quartz panels, while hand painted blue denim is used to wrap cornices and ceiling details- a fashionista’s dream closet!
The Botanist is the muse for our outpost in London’s new retail mecca, Coal Drops Yard.
The backdrop of this faded industrial site was reinvigorated with neon pops of colour and texture – copper gabions sit filled with acid coloured wildflowers against rugged sheets of corten steel, clashing beautifully against our botany laboratory aesthetic.
A romantic stroll through a walled garden inspired the muse for Westfield London; the Poet.
A dreamy entrance down a garden path leads you under a cascade of tumbling poems, blowing you in the gently scented breeze into the store.
A softer, floral aesthetic greets you with colourful, hand-painted walls, craquelure textured bookshelves and book binding inspired marbled papers, offering a delicate backdrop to hand stitched poems set into paint splattered swept picture frames.
Conceived as an eclectic Victorian gentleman’s residence, Penhaligon’s Hong Kong is crafted from rose and cedar wood which are the very base notes used in the historical English company’s fragrances. The interior has handmade marquetry floors, period antiques and an antique book library with a secret entrance door leading the fortunate few to the scent profiling room behind.
A standalone boutique in the Four Seasons Shoppes, Penhaligon’s Macau is inspired by an English rose garden. Handmade brass roses entwine around free standing oak and marble cabinets which in turn encircle the scent profiling table; with its inlaid marquetry of rosewoods and cedars it personifies the very essence of the perfume itself.
Charmed by the diverse and archetypal craft of the English artisan, we have explored traditional techniques and forgotten processes to imbue these crafts with the wit and humour of that of the original founder, William Penhaligon.
